now I know why WAF exists!!!

This visit took place on an exceptionally hot summer day (since I sell YORK Air Conditioners I was secretly enjoying it).  Erol's system sits in his (6 x 8 m) main living room. Contrarily to most other audiophiles I have visited Erol told me that WAF is an important issue in his household and that he gradually increased the size of his speakers, his latest Dunlavy 4's being the most imposing ones. Before taking his Dunlavy 4's home, he told his wife that they will nearly touch the ceiling. His wife was very much relieved to see that in reality they are smaller than what she had imagined them to be. Excellent tactic Erol!

Erol is a member of Istanbul Hi-Fi Club, he listens to jazz (65%) and classical (35%) music.

A reader from Canada suggested that from now on I include my friends' CD's that they use for equipment evaluation purposes. So, here we go with Erol who gave me the following three.

  • Vivaldi / Concerti / L'Europa Galante, Fabio Biondi / Opus 111 (OPS 30-86)
  • Hommage a Piazzolla / Gidon Kremer / Nonesuch 7559-79407-2
  • Itzhak Perlman, Oscar Peterson / Side by Side / Telarc CD-83341
